Miniature antique engraved map showing the orginal provinces which were to become the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata, which in turn was the basis of today’s Argentina.  Includes the city of Buenos Aires and 3 leaves of description in English.  Engraved by J Roche, published c 1790 (although the geographical information is pre 1776.)

Antique engraved chart of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) by Jean Claude Dezauche based on an English map issued in 1770.  It shows the routes of the English ships, the Jason and the Carcasse which surveyed the islands and established a permanent settlement at Port Egmont in 1766.  The French settlement at Fort St Louis (renamed Port Solidad in 1767 under the Spanish) is also shown.  Nine detailed coastal profiles above the map.  Probably from Dezauche’s Atlas Geographique des Quatre Parties du Monde published in the 1780s.

Antique engraved map of the West Indies and central America at a very interesting time in their history; with inset maps of Havana harbour, Guadalupe and Martinique.  Puerto Rico and Cuba are still Spanish.  Most of Central America north of the Ismuth of Panama apart from the British colony of Honduras, is the Central American Federation. Panama is still part of Gran Colombia.  Yucatan is shown as independent; Haiti is an empire.  By Friederich von Stulpnagel from Stieler’s Hand Atlas, plate 99 or 48, published in Gotha in1855.
